Arteco Gallery's "Winter's Edge" opening, Saturday, November 29 (back)
If you plan to be in Cumberland this Thanksgiving and are looking for something special to do on the Saturday evening after Thursday's festivities, be sure to visit the opening reception of the Arteco Gallery's newest exhibition "Winter's Edge".
Offering the visitor a remarkable selection of beautiful and sophisticated artwork, the Arteco Gallery sparkles with white and silver blown glass balls, fused glass jewelry, crystalline porcelain, photographs, prints and canvasses that speak of winter's bare branches and the clear, cold sky at midnight create a striking contrast to the warmth of elegantly turned wood vessels and lamps of rice paper, copper and soapstone.
Arteco artists represented in the show include: Sarah Ashe, Terry Bachman, Cecelia Battle, Josh Brown. Bob Corrigan, Dalis Davidson, Suzanne Donazetti, Jean Barnes Downs, Ray Downs, Tom Dunne, Nancy Giere, Pat Hilton, Katie Dell Kaufman, Deborah Hicks Odgers, Meg Romero, and Lisa Sheirer.
The "Winter's Edge" exhibition will be on display and artwork for sale at the Arteco Gallery throughout the month of December, during which the gallery will have extended hours, from 12 to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The gallery is located at 60 Pershing Street, in Downtown Cumberland (across from the District Court and next to Merchants' Alley).
